Sikong Mountain, also known as Sikongyuan, is located in Dianqian Town, 70 kilometers southwest of Yuexi County, Anhui Province, with an altitude of 1227 meters. According to legend, during the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Chunyu's official residence in Da Sikong retreated to the mountain, so he got the name "Sikong Mountain". Sikong Mountain has been a sacred place of Zen Buddhism since ancient times. At the end of the Western Han Dynasty, Mei Fu, a famous scholar in Jiujiang, lived in seclusion in the mountains to make alchemy and practice Taoism. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zuo Ci, the patriarch of Taoism of Danding School, first built the Xuanmiao Temple on the mountain. In the third year of Jiande in the Northern Zhou Dynasty (574), Emperor Wu of Zhou issued an edict to destroy the Buddha. Hui Ke, the second ancestor of Zen Buddhism, "the Great Ancestor Zen Master", brought the cassock and four volumes of "Langa Sutra" passed down by the first ancestor Bodhidharma, and lived in seclusion in Sikong Mountain in the eighth year of Taijian Nanchen (576). Zen Buddhism was sinicized and became the mainstream sect of Buddhism. In the Tang Dynasty, with Li Bai's escape from chaos and temporary residence in Sikong Mountain, Sikong Mountain reached its peak in history, and for a time, the incense was extremely prosperous. Today, the Taibai Book Hall and the Daxiong Hall have been restored, and the ancient arches and a large number of stone carvings and other monuments are well preserved. In the scenic area of 53.5 square kilometers, 9 tourist attractions have been built, including Erzu Temple, Sikong Village, Putuo Cave, Xiangshui Village, and Qianfo Pagoda.
