Fujian Linyin Stone Forest

Linyin Attraction is a typical karst landform. It includes Linyin Stone Forest, Hongyunshan Stone Forest, Shibadong and other scenic spots. The total area is 1.85 square kilometers. It is second only to Yunnan Stone Forest in size and can be called the second in the country. It has been rated as a national key scenic spot. The surface of the rocks in the Attraction is mostly fish scales, and it is named because "Linyin" means "the sky hides its traces". The initial development of the stone forest can be traced back to the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty. The local celebrities Lai Qiaoqian and Lai Yunsheng took six years to repair the road in it and built pavilions and academies. There are more than 400 stone buds, stone cones, stone pillars and stalagmites in the Attraction, up to 36 meters high. The vegetation in the stone forest is rich, like a huge bonsai born on the flat ground. The strange rocks are anthropomorphic, including Sanding Rock, Wangtianxing, Stone Monkey Holding Peach, Black Bear Protecting Bamboo Shoots, Bajie Looking in the Mirror, Stone Turtle Exploring Caves, Tiger Fluttering Stones, Jade Rabbit Looking at the Moon, and Ancient Bell Hanging. There is also a huge cliff in the stone forest, about 200 meters long and 50 meters high. After millions of years of wind and rain erosion, the carved patterns are like Dunhuang murals, which are intriguing. In addition to the stone forest on the ground, the underground caves are also worth exploring. The cave is called "Ice Room", which is several meters in radius and can accommodate hundreds of people. Entering it in midsummer will completely eliminate the heat. Among them, the 18 caves are located in the Huangshi Rock at the entrance of Linyin Stone Forest, divided into upper, middle and lower layers. The main cave is 217 meters long, with countless branch caves, and caves within caves, like a maze. The stalactites in the cave are in various shapes and forms, and there is a clear spring inside, which is quite rare in the stone forest landscape. Hongyunshan Stone Forest is 1.5 kilometers away from Linyin Stone Forest and covers an area of ​​about 0.56 square kilometers. The stone forest here is not very tall, but there are karst depressions on the surface, covered with stone buds and stone pillars of various forms; the surface water collected in the depressions seeps through the cracks in the limestone and flows out from the Hongyun Cave at the bottom, with clear springs flowing all year round. The chemical deposits such as stalactites in Hongyun Cave are still developing, which has high ornamental and research value. The main scenic spots include more than 30 places such as Taoyuan Live Water, Yanxia Rock, Golden Rooster Crowing, and Squirrel Lying on the Wall.
