In winter, the Zao Onsen large open-air bath is closed, so take a bath here. The parking lot is large and easy to park. Admission is 1,000 yen. There is no view of the open-air bath, but the hot springs are still pleasant. The second strongest acid hot water in the whole country. Thank you.
Zao Onsen has a long history of opening hot springs even in Yamagata, where there are many hot springs. The strong acidic spring quality is strong, but the muddy water with a sulfur scent is irresistible for hot spring lovers. Fortunately, I am grateful that it is easy to access by car or bus. I couldn't get an inn in Zao, so I used this facility just for a day trip. The building was new and clean. There are restaurants and shops in the building, which looks like a roadside station. There is also a footbath. The bathroom is in the back and has an indoor bath and an open-air bath. Indoor bath ...
I found this while looking for a facility where I can take a day trip to the effect of hot springs, which are said to contain a lot of sulfur components. The parking lot has plenty of space and there is also a souvenir shop, where local specialties are on sale. Watermelon cider was popular with children. Purchase your ticket at the ticket vending machine and go through the admission procedure at the reception. The hot springs and restaurants are located down the stairs to the basement (1st floor?). The hot springs are open-air baths in the indoor bath. There are pot hot water and hot water in the outdoor bath ...
It is "Yunohana Chaya Shinzaemon no Yu" in front of Zao Chuo Ropeway "Onsen Station". Used at a day trip hot spring.

It is "Yunohana Chaya Shinzaemon no Yu" in front of Zao Chuo Ropeway "Onsen Station". I used it at a day trip hot spring, but the "Yukimi open-air bath" was especially good and had a very tasteful atmosphere. The quality of the spring was healed with my favorite "sulfur system". It was generally a good feeling "Yunohana Chaya Shinzaemon no Yu". It is recommended.
The Yukimi open-air bath was the best. If you take a bath after skiing or after watching the rime, you can go home refreshingly. There were many souvenirs.
