Short tour and explanation of production of Shōchū (焼酎) followed by tasting session afterward. Tour is in Japanese so you will require a translator.
A sake brewery that can be visited
Visited on weekdays in October 2019 You can see the preparation of shochu. However, advance reservation is required. Booklets etc. did not require reservations, but the paper at the tourist information center said that advance reservations were required, and I made a reservation in a hurry the day before. However, when I was visiting, another customer came and talked about making a reservation in a hurry, so maybe he would respond even on the day. You can see where potato shochu is made. At the sales office, you can sample sake that is only sold on Yakushima.
