Nanyang Fir Sparse Forest Lawn The Nanyang Fir Sparse Forest Lawn, also known as the Nanyang Fir Lawn, was established in the 1960s and was designed by Professor Sun Xiaoxiang, a famous Chinese garden master. It is located on the south side of Wanshi Lake and covers an area of about 1 hectare. The Nanyang Fir family has 3 genera and 37 species. Our garden currently introduces 3 genera and 15 species. About 10 hectares of heterophyllous Nanyang fir forest is planted on the southeast side of the Nanyang Fir Lawn, which is currently the largest heterophyllous Nanyang fir pure forest in China.

Xiamen Botanical Garden, to me, feels like a small island; it's really vast. However, I really like the infrastructure of the park. Entering from the south gate, after walking a bit, there's a mountain elevator, which is such a energy saver. What would be a half-day hike is done in half an hour. Once you're up, there's a sightseeing bus that goes up and down the mountain. You can get off at a station to look around, then take the sightseeing bus to the next stop.
