Huishan, the ancient town in Jiangnan most beloved by Emperor Qianlong, is in its prime for flower appreciation in spring
After spring, besides enjoying the flowers, what else attracts you? I prefer to seek out the intriguing history and culture hidden in the springtime.
🌟 Huishan Ancient Town Scenic Area is rich in cultural relics and has beautiful mountains, waters, forests, and springs. It features ancient streets, gardens, temples, springs, academies, poetry societies, and ancestral halls, offering a variety of traditional cultural resources. Standing in front of the Drunken Red Slope, I understand what the Tang Dynasty poet Han Wo meant by 'a garden of bright red flowers intoxicates the mound'. The Chinese Azalea Garden in the area has more than 500 varieties of azaleas, which decorate the mountains and form a scenic view with the flowers.
🌟 Emperor Qianlong once wrote, 'Among all the famous places in Jiangnan, only Huishan's Qin Garden is the oldest.' Do you know where Qin Garden is? It is the Jichang Garden, one of the four famous gardens in Jiangnan. As is well known, the gardens of Suzhou were built by frustrated literati, but Jichang Garden was built by a successful official who retired and returned to his hometown, hence its style is more bright and unrestrained compared to the gardens of Suzhou.
🌟 The 108 ancestral halls in Huishan Ancient Town are simply an 'open-air history museum'. After visiting the Gu Kejiu Ancestral Hall, you can go to the Fan Wenzhenggong Ancestral Hall, where you can experience making a handcrafted fan and feel the eternal saying, 'Worry before the world worries, enjoy after the world enjoys'.
🌟 In the afternoon, in the Lu Zi Ancestral Hall, enjoy a cup of tea made with water from the Second Spring while overlooking the winding dragon wall and the Second Spring below. Did 'Tea Saint' Lu Yu also enjoy such a leisurely and comfortable time back in the day?
🚩 During the Azalea Festival, there are also many activities.
1⃣️ There is a night tour of the Azalea Garden, listening to the spring song of azaleas at the Drunken Red Slope.
2⃣️ There is the Huishan Temple Fair, which is full of worldly delights.
3⃣️ In the evening at Jichang Garden, there is 'A Dream in the Garden', where you can listen to a piece of Kunqu opera in the 500-year-old garden.
4⃣️ There is also the 'Crossing the River on a Reed' water performance, which uses the water surface of the Yingshan Lake in the scenic area for a beautiful performance between the mountains and waters.

Huishan Ancient Town is very historical and cultural. It is a monument garden mainly in Jichang Garden. There are Huishan Temple and many ancient architectural landscapes such as the second spring in the world. There are Huishan and Xishan around, and the scenery is very beautiful.
Good weekend leisure shopping, Ctrip fare half price, still very good! The scenery of Jichangyuan is good, sit and chat, drink tea, very leisurely! Eat a bowl of silver noodles in Huishan Ancient Town, eat Xiaolong, sweet feeling!
This ancient town is quite big, very Jiangnan characteristics, many delicious 😋 ancient town part is not charged, the scenery of Jichangyuan and Huishan Temple in the charge is beautiful, it is worth seeing.
This year, I went to Wuxi Huishan Ancient Town during the May Day holiday. I felt that it was a worthwhile trip. The scenery was very beautiful. There were too many people. There was no place to park around the ancient town. Self-driving friends should plan in advance. The whole ancient town was crowded. Otherwise, I will take a lot of photos to share with my friends!
An attraction in Wuxi City, I feel that I don’t understand the ticket. I go in from one door and the other door. I don’t see where the door is. Anyway, there are ticket gates everywhere. Unlike other cities, the ancient town is generally free. Then I enter a specific attraction and then buy a ticket. Except for the second spring in the world, nothing else is worth it.
I bought tickets to Huishan Ancient Town one day in advance (including Jichangyuan and Xihuiyuan), which can be discounted by five yuan compared to the day. I tasted Wuxi ribs like silver noodles and braised pork in Xinwanxin Yinsi Noodle Restaurant. The business was booming and the guests were waiting in line. On April 6, Xihuiyuan, only rhododendrons are on display, and Tokyo evening cherry is still swaying on the branches. The tomb of the blind man Aqi moved to Xihuiyuan. When some tourists hung Aqi, the mobile phone played "Erquan Yingyue". The ear was a melodious and mournful Erhu solo. Every note was full of reverence and remembrance for the old master.
There is a commercial street at the entrance of the scenic spot. It is decorated in antique style. There are many snacks and shops. Don’t worry about eating and drinking here. Crossing the commercial street is the scenic spot. The scenic spot covers a small area. The scenic spot building is very simple. The pavilions in the park are very beautiful. There are many locals who come here to drink tea and set up a dragon gate, which is very suitable for leisure time. However, the fare is really a bit expensive. There is no discount for the elderly aged 60-69. It is free for more than 70. How many elderly people can come by themselves?
