杜鹃园位于磨山西一峰脚下，建于1985年，面积45亩，是一处颇有丘谷野趣的自然风景园林。园中遍布80余个品种的杜鹃3000余株。园内小桥流水、曲径通幽;成片楠竹，青翠欲滴;杜鹃花开，满园春色。园中配植的观叶、观花、观果植物和榔榆等古树名木，使之锦上添花。常年展览根雕艺术精品。

杜鹃园位于武汉市东湖生态旅游风景区磨山景区内，与著名的东湖菏园和樱园相邻，离著名的东湖梅园不远，地处磨山南麓，园区面积较大，依山傍水，小桥流水，亭台翠竹与满园的红杜鹃相映成辉，4-5月份是赏花的最好季节。
