Changchun Guan

Changchun Temple in Wuhan, located on the south slope of Shuangfeng Mountain at the northeast corner of Dadongmen in Wuchang, was built in the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt again during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty and the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty (1661-1722). The Taoist "Quanzhen School" worshipped in Changchun Temple is named after the Taoist name "Changchunzi" of Qiu Chuji, a disciple of Wang Chongyang, the founder of the Quanzhen School. This Qiu Chuji is the famous "Qiu Daochang" written by Jin Yong. Changchun Temple sits in the north and faces south, and the surrounding scenery is quiet. The buildings inside the Guan are built on the mountain. There are three buildings on the left, middle and right. Qizhen Hall, Huixian Bridge, Sanhuang Hall, etc. There are Luzu Hall and Daozang Pavilion on the axis of the west road, and Jiazi Hall on the east road. When visiting Changchun Temple, you can walk around according to the central axis and the signs in the temple. The Hall of Qizhen is the main hall of the Guanzhong. There are statues of Qiu Chuji and several other brothers and sisters in it. The prototypes of these statues all appeared in Mr. Jin Yong's martial arts novel "Shooting the Condor". In addition to the main buildings, the "three musts" in the view are not to be missed when visiting. On the stone wall at the entrance of Zongrentang in the temple is inlaid the "astronomical panorama", one of the "three musts", in the picture there is a Taoist "twenty-eight constellations in the sky", which reflects the astronomical concept in Taoist thought. The Taoist Pavilion on the axis of the West Road is also one of the "Three Wonders". It is the only Taoist building in the country with European-style buildings as the main body. Its eaves are made of traditional flower decorations made of cement. This is because of the late Qing Dynasty. Hou Yongde, the "host" of Changchun Temple, was originally a general. There is also "one must", which is the stone inscription "Gan Tang" written by Emperor Qianlong in front of the Taoist Pavilion, which is one of the few emperor's inscriptions in Taoist architecture. In the Lvzu Hall on the axis of the West Road, there are the reclining statue of Lv Dongbin and the statue of "Five Hundred Spiritual Officials", which were demolished from the original site of the Yellow Crane Tower due to the construction of the Yangtze River Bridge. If you visit Changchun Temple, you may be fortunate enough to encounter the female host Wu Chengzhen here. She is the only "female head" in the history of Chinese Taoism for more than 1,800 years. In the east of Changchun Guan, there is "Zhai Bu Tang Changchun Guan Vegetarian Restaurant". The vegetarian dishes in it have a good reputation and the prices are relatively high. During the Spring Festival every year, there are also temple fairs in Changchun Temple, during which the passenger flow will increase a lot.
