Captain Cook Statue

Whitby was the place where Captain Cook, a famous British navigator, set out. He was the first Englishman to arrive in Australia and New Zealand. On the Highlands along Whitby's coast, stands his bronze statue, very tall and magnificent, symbolizing the dream of Britain's formerly powerful maritime power.
