県道２１５号沿い。駐車場も十分確保。令和４年度企画展「旅の記憶・街の記憶」を見に行きました。観覧料３１０円。各種交通系マネーが使えて便利。氏名、電話番号、県・市区町村の記帳が求められます。企画展はほぼ撮影禁止。常設展も仏像を中心に撮影禁止が多いです。熊野磨崖仏や富貴寺大堂を使ったプロジェクションマッピングがお見事。鬼が仏になった里「くにさき」に納得です。
大分県県北を中心に展示
以前から来てみたいと思っていた施設で毎回時間が取れずに先延ばしになっていました。車であれば宇佐神宮からそう遠くありません。県立ですが、場所もあると思いますが、大分県県北の歴史に関する展示が主になっていました。奥の展望台からの景色が綺麗です。特別展示で大分県内で昭和の頃になった廃線になった鉄道関係の展示をやっていて貴重なものを見ることが出来ました。
