Uppsala Cathedral

One of the bigger cathedrals in Sweden. Nice to see for a little while. It is free to go inside as well.

Uppsala is a city in central Sweden, located north of the capital Stockholm. It is the fourth largest city in Sweden with a population of 130,000 and is the religious center of Sweden. Uppsala Cathedral, the earliest Catholic church in northern Europe, is located in this city.

It is known as Scandinavia's largest church, a magnificent Gothic building and one of the local landmarks. Many Swedish kings and historic celebrities are buried here, and the exquisite carvings on the coffins of kings are really amazing.

Uppsala Cathedral looks like a castle. It's very beautiful and large. Its interior decoration looks very luxurious. The good news is that it doesn't cost money to get in, but it's from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This is the sacred place where the Swedish King held his coronation ceremony. Uppsala Cathedral belongs to the Archbishop of Sweden. It's really worth visiting.

Uppsala's landmark building, also the largest Catholic Church in Nordic, is situated on the Phyllis River. The towering twin spires can be seen in Gamla in the distance when the weather is good. They often pass by when they are reading here, but they don't think of coming in and sitting down until they leave. Normal tourists are not too many, so they are suitable for their quiet time.
