Lots of great hikes for both newbies and avid hikers. The scenery is gorgeous and we saw quite a bit of wildlife.
Great park with great views and great hikes! You can buy a park pass on the Ontario Parks website up to five days in advance. We had an Ontario Parks summer pass which allowed us unlimited day entries to all Ontario provincial parks for the summer. It is a great value since we visited over 10 parks this summer.
Our car broke just before went to on a trip to Thunder Bay. So we had to rent an SUV to driving from Waldheim-Saskatoon, SK to Thunder Bay. You need a park pass to viist the park. However the park offices 3/4 of way inside the park. Why?. There are many trails some longer then 20 plus km to others under a 1 km. All road are very narrow and ruggest. You need medium to high clearness vechile to go on any road that is not the main praved road. Many road are only 1 way road. The road that allow traffic both are either wide enough 1 Vechile or 1/2 Vechiles. Our Our is car would have been to low to drive around Sleeping Giant. I am glad we had an SUV otherwise we would have done more damaged to our car. Only spent 1 hour driving around due the ruggness we left because we did not want to take the chance of damaging our rental SUV.
