Tahoe Donner Cross Country

Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Area is our favorite. We try to go every winter. It has good rental equipment and a large variety of trails, from beginner to expert level. They also offer ski lessons.

Still laid back.

In marked contrast to Truckee, Donner has avoided the commercialization which has ruined the former.

A great winter recreation area with skiing, snowboarding and sledding. Not the biggest resort, but close to SF bay area.

Big Ski Resort

One of the biggest ski areas at Donner Lake, good place to spend the day if you are a skier. Lifts and all of that.
