An artificial lake built to counter floods in the Sako River Basin, which originates in the northeastern part of Miyagi Prefecture. It has a complex lake shore and has a circuit, but it is farther than you can see on the map. Although it is not designated as a bird and beast reserve, like the nearby Izu-numa and Uchi-numa, many ostrich and ducks can be seen in winter because it is a valuable water surface where migratory birds can rest their wings.
