The St. Martin Bridge, located on the west side of the ancient city of Toledo, is a medieval bridge across the Tahoe River. It was built in the 13th century and built in the late 14th century. Two Gothic-style defense towers stand at the head of the bridge. The five-arch stone bridge with a large arch + four small arch is similar to the Zhaozhou Bridge in China. Looking at the stone bridge, the mottled exterior tells the vicissitudes of history, the city emblem of the bridge shows the immortal glory, and the monastery in the distance blooms with a straight figure...

The triangular City Hall Square in the center of Toledo is surrounded by three buildings, the Cathedral, the City Hall and the Cardinal Palace. The bustling tourists flocked to the square, mostly standing in front of the City Hall, looking up at the towering cathedral opposite, and snorting. Don't miss it, there is also a beautiful view behind... Toledo City Hall, used as a government office building, built in the 17th century, the 3-storey main building is Renaissance style, +2-storey tower with baroque spires, overflowing with a strong multi-art atmosphere. The mayor and government departments are here, and the balcony on the 3rd floor is flying four flags of the European Union, Spain, Castile, the Autonomous Region of Lamancha, and Toledo. There is a tourist service center on the first floor. Tourists can receive maps and brochures for free and visit the ancient city according to the recommended route. Tips: The town hall square is small in size and compact in architecture. It is a difficult task to take a panoramic view of the city hall.

See the ancient city of Toledo, the gate of Pisagra cannot be missed. The gate of Pisagra, the main gate of the ancient city of Toledo, was built during the Moorish rule and was rebuilt in 1559 when King Carlos I of Spain ruled. The majestic gate consists of three parts: the north side - two huge cylindrical fortresses, with arched gates sandwiched between them and the emblem of Carlos I - the imperial double-headed emperor eagle engraved above the gate. South side - towering Gemini tower, inlaid with a porcelain painting on the interior wall, Cervantes's avatar writes the inscription for Toledo: The glory of Spain, the light of the Spanish city. In the middle - the courtyard surrounded by the gate and the tower, similar to the Chinese-style city of Yucheng, the ancient weapons court, and there is a statue of Carlos I in the neutrality of the court. Tips: Tour Toledo, most tourists enter the ancient city from the Pisa Gran Gate.

The site of the Puerta del Sol, originally a gate facing the east on the 15th century Madrid wall, was named after the upper floor decorated with the pattern of the rising sun; in the continuous expansion of the city, the gate was demolished in 1570. The square, which was built, retained the name of "Puerta del Sol" and gradually became the center of the city. From the aerial aerial view, the 10 streets and alleys are radiant, like the rising sun and shining. In the center of the square, oval fountains on both sides of the east and west, surrounded by the statue of Carlos III sitting in the C position. The king, who built Madrid's vast infrastructure and was admired by the people of Madrid, rode a high-headed horse and sat smilingly watching the wind and clouds of the square and the changes of the city. On the south side is the most classic building in the square - the Security Bureau Building. The building built from 1766 to 1768 (the bell tower was built in 1867), the simple and bright style, the red and white facade, conveying the atmosphere of neoclassical palace architecture. The building was originally the central post office in Madrid, later the headquarters of the Franco-era Ministry of National Security, and is now the government office building in Madrid. For quite a while, the Spanish people loved the clock on the roof of the Security Bureau building, and regarded the clock as Spanish standard time, and it was honored to come here to watch. Today, people gather in the square to listen to the New Year bells of the building. On the north side, four slightly curved buildings lined up all the way, with stylish facades and white crystals; The top of the building is towering "TIO PEPE" (the world's first brand of sherry) advertising, exaggerated with elegance, cute cute. The ground of the street in front of the main entrance of the Security Bureau building is embedded with the road zero kilometers logo. Semicircular logo engraved with maps of Spain and the Iberian Peninsula and the words "0 km, road starting point". Spanish roads calculate miles from this point, Madrid streets prepare house numbers from this point. Without a shadow, the shoes underfoot have not set foot in Madrid.

To visit the ancient city of Toledo, before entering the city (or after leaving the city), you must check in the Valley Watchtower. The Valley Watchtower is located in the southern mountains outside the ancient city. Arrived on the observation deck to the north, the whole view of the ancient city is unobstructed: the towering cathedral and the square castle sit on the left and right, the clear Tahoe River flows around the city, and the different buildings are scaled...

Toledo Sukdebel Square, formed during the Moorish rule (711 AD), is named after the Moorish language, meaning the market for livestock. During the Catholic reign (after 1065 AD), the square continued to play the role of the city center, usually a market, a bullring during celebrations, and used as a fire site when the inquisition was held in the Middle Ages. In October 1589, the square was destroyed by fire and has been rebuilt to this day. The square is an irregular quadrilateral, and the back of the stone chair in the square is embedded with colored porcelain prints - the illustrations in the novel "Don Quixote", which has a unique charm. The buildings around the square with arcades are scattered, and the restaurants and gift shops inside and outside the building are in scale. Buy and eat freely. The most important part of the square is the classic Moorish "Holy Blood Arch", which stands outside the bronze statue of Cervantes; Don Quixote rode a thin horse through the arch to begin his adventure. Tip: Sukdebel Square, a hub of public transportation in the ancient city, is moderately distanced from the main attractions, and has become a major tourist distribution center.

The Plaza Mayor adds a bit of laziness to the bustling Puerta del Sol. When I walk into this square "complex" from Madrid's old neighborhood, I immediately feel a unique atmosphere! The square has 9 arches connecting the outer streets.

#1 of Family-friendly Attractions in Madrid

Originally the spiritual retreat of Spain’s ultimate power couple, Isabella and Ferdinand, Retiro evolved into a pleasure palace when the rather less devout Felipe IV wore the crown. Built by his valido (the equivalent of Prime Minister), the Conde Duque de Olivares, more than 20 buildings went up between 1630 and 1660 to please the playboy king who enjoyed balls, theater and reenactments of naval battles performed on the park’s central lake. The Palacio de Velazquez is not the only Reina Sofía gallery nearby. Venture further south and you’ll come upon the Palacio de Cristal, a huge greenhouse built in 1887 to house flora brought over from the Philippines — then a Spanish colony. Sadly, at the time, Filipino natives were also brought over and forced to live in their “natural habitat” by the side of the ornamental pond outside. The dark history of this human zoo was rightly exposed and condemned in a 2021 exhibition by Filipino artist, Kidlat Tahimik, held in the space.

Even if you’re not looking for food, walking through is a fun way to overview Madrid’s general culinary scene. The whole market is huge, and you’ll have to walk through a couple loops if you want to get a good idea of all the options (which I recommend doing anyways).
