I stopped by on the way back from visiting Shinagawa Shrine. Founded in 1298 as a temple of the Shingon sect. The foundation was Zeneibo Shuno. It is said that Shuno was a fallen warrior of the Heike family. In the 3rd year of Enpo (1675), he converted to the Jodo Shinshu Honganji school and became "Nichiyayama Shotokuji". Furthermore, it is said that it was transferred to the Shinshu Otani school in 1712 and reached the present. There is a large ginkgo tree in the precincts.
