It is a temple with a magnificent mountain gate near the old Tokaido. It makes you feel that it is a small but well-maintained temple.

There is a small temple in the back of the mountain gate.

I stopped by on the way back from visiting Shinagawa Shrine. It is accessible on foot from Shinbaba Station on the Keihin Kyuko Line, and there is a mountain gate along the approach to Shinagawa Shrine and you can enter the precincts. The temple itself has a very interesting history, and the relocation and sects have changed several times, and now it is a temple of the Shinshu Otani school. When you enter the precincts from the mountain gate, it is not large, but it is in good condition. Why don't you stop by when you take a walk in Shinagawa-juku on the Tokaido?

    now the shinshu otani school

    Original Text

Founded in 1298 as a temple of the Shingon sect. The foundation was Zeneibo Shuno. It is said that Shuno was a fallen warrior of the Heike family. In the 3rd year of Enpo (1675), he converted to the Jodo Shinshu Honganji school and became "Nichiyayama Shotokuji". Furthermore, it is said that it was transferred to the Shinshu Otani school in 1712 and reached the present. There is a large ginkgo tree in the precincts.

    Day and Night Mountain

It is a temple of the Jodo Shinshu sect near Keikyu Shinbaba Station. It was originally opened as a temple of the Shingon sect, and later converted to the Jodo Shinshu sect. The pine tree in front of the mountain gate is impressive.

It is a temple that enters from a magnificent mountain gate, and the quiet precincts are also impressive. The tomb is also adjacent, and it looks like a temple rooted in the area.
