Masjid Raya Sultan Riau

Riau is located in the north of Bintan Island, on Penyengat Island not far from Tanjung Pinang, where there is a very beautiful mosque. The Sultan Mosque in Guglione has many domes and minarets, the walls are a permanent yellow color, and the mortar used for the construction is a mixture of special egg whites and mixed building materials. These egg whites are said to have been presented to the sultan by his subjects at the occasion of his wedding. In addition, the mosque has a rare 150-year-old handwritten Koran.
