Old remodeled village
Just a village which has been renovated to attract more tourists. The remodeling is done based on traditional Okinawa style. A short visit of 30mins is sufficient.

A taste of Ryukyu
The village of Taketomi island is a beautiful jump into Ryukyu traditions, architecture, life style, creed... shisa to guard every house. Very nice if you are interested in their tradition.
I feel like I'm in the tropical paradise.
During Golden Week, I took a walk around the village of Taketomi Island from morning to noon. Just walking makes me feel like I'm not in Japan, it was just a remote island in Okinawa, a southern island. Okinawa private house with red tile roof, limestone stone walls, beautiful tropical flowers such as Bougainvillea, buffalo carts, etc. ... I really like the island called Taketomi Island because of the beautiful sea, beautiful nature, and ranch.
It's fun just walking.
Dare to walk from the terminal. It took about 20 minutes to reach the village. Since it was sunny on the day, the blue sky and the scenery were very shining. It was good that the road was not paved.
