Tianyan Tourist Area (Tianyan Attraction), located in the northwest of Shennongjia Forest District, is one of the important Attraction in the forest district. National Highway 209 runs through the entire tourist area from north to south. If you are a self-driving tourist, you can reach the tourist area by driving along National Highway 209. Like other tourist areas in Shennongjia Forest District, the area here is very large, with two entrances in the south and north. Both entrances are close to National Highway 209 and are more than ten kilometers apart. The southern entrance is close to the Tianmenya Attraction Area in the tourist area, and the northern entrance is close to the Yanziya Attraction in the tourist area. The two Attraction can be visited together along the highway or the mountain plank road (self-driving tourists can drive in). The tourist area is also named because of these two main Attraction.

Tianmenya Attraction is about 2,000 meters above sea level. If you start from Muyu Town and travel from south to north, Tianmenya Attraction is the first stop of the entire Tianyan Tourist Area. There is a "Human-Shaped Animal Museum" at the entrance of the Attraction, where you can see some introductions about "animals shaped like humans", such as: mandrills, mountain ghosts, human bears and other "wild man"-like creatures. The Attraction is lush with vegetation and various plants. It is surrounded by clouds and mist all year round, but on a sunny day after a heavy rain, you can see a magnificent sea of ​​clouds here, but this spectacular scenery is rare.

Yanziya Attraction at the north entrance is larger than Tianmenya Attraction, and has more Attraction spots, including the Wild Man Cave, Swallow Cave, Rhino Cave, Rainbow Bridge and other major attractions. It is the core Attraction of ​​Tianyan Tourist Area. Although the Wild Man Cave in the Attraction can no longer see the wild man, you can still see the ancient marine swiftlet variant - the short-billed swiftlet in the Swallow Cave. The cave is very deep and dark, so tourists need to bring their own flashlights to see the swiftlets.

In Yanziya Attraction, there is also a full-steel viewing bridge lying on both sides of the pass - Rainbow Bridge. This steel bridge is also the highest landscape bridge in Asia and a landmark attraction in Tianyan Tourist Area. When you climb the bridge deck, you will see an endless primeval forest in front of you, with boxwood, rock cypress, fir and other trees, which are particularly beautiful against the blue sky and white clouds. There are also mountain roads and plank roads on both sides of the pass, and you can follow these roads to visit the entire Attraction.

The entire Tianyan tourist area is very large, especially for tourists who do not drive themselves or do not charter a car (chartering fee in Shennongjia Forest Area: 300-500 yuan/day), it is quite tiring to play. Tourists can choose to visit the Attraction and attractions in the tourist area according to their own situation. If you can only choose to visit some Attraction, it is recommended to choose Yanziya Attraction.

Around December to January of the following year, the regular Attraction in Tianyan Tourist Area will be temporarily closed due to snow. At this time, the Tianyan Ski Resort in the tourist area will be open. A few kilometers south of the tourist area is Hongping Gallery. Although this attraction is within the tourist area, you need to buy a separate ticket. There is no accommodation and Dining service in Tianyan Tourist Area. Tourists need to bring their own drinking water and dry food. Tourists can choose to stay in Muyu Town, Hongping Town or Songbai Town according to the direction of the next day's tour.
