I love the place and i tried to went early, however at only around 10.10am, the que for the ticket was horrible. I decided to pay a bit more to purchase online so i can go in early as i have other attractions to visit. And when i went in headed straight to the famous underground attraction, its another horror, the que for this was even longer than the que for tickets. This is getting a little way too much hence i decided to abort the idea and just walk around the place. Overall, it was nice.

Quinta da Regaleira is a must-see! Take a few hours and walk around the grounds exploring the architecture, and the local flora and fauna. It is a great way to spend a day and learn some history of region.
Sintra is always filled with tourist. It's that kind of place. So if you have an aversion to crowds, then the Quinta da Regaleira might not be your cup of tea. That being said, we found this estate mind-blowing in terms of both architecture and history. It is a UNESCO listed world heritage site that looks as if it's right out of a fairy tale. Tickets can be bought at the gate. Water bottle, camera, and flat-soled comfortable shoes are a necessity. You will do a lot of walking as the estate not only contains buildings but also gardens. We spent at least three hours here and loved every minute.
