San Francisco Public Library

The San Francisco Public Library was first opened on June 7, 1879. The current library construction began on March 15, 1993. The building was completed in 1995 and opened on April 18, 1996. The new library covers an area of 34,900 square meters, six floors above ground and one basement. It is a beautiful building.

The library is very modern, very clean and quiet. People can read in the reading area below the stairs.
