We decided to do something different on New Year's Eve this year and then head to the World Meet the Culture Centre for their New Year's Eve activities. Events include a vegetarian buffet, African drumming, yoga and sputum rehabilitation. It's a great space with a nurturing community. If you are in the area, we highly recommend stopping to see what is happening there. It is located in a building on the edge of Balboa Park.

This is a very cultural and grass roots style venue with awesome art. I️ came here for the World Finals of an international breakin’ competition called Undisputed.

A unique building and gathering place in Balboa Park, they specialize in community outreach, education and cultural celebrations. It is an old water tank that is now covered in murals and uses all natural ventilation and daylight. Events include concerts, drum circles, dancing, film festivals, organic urban gardening, healthy restaurant and coffee shop. Makeda Dred is a well-known local radio and TV personality as well as activist.
