There are many temple towers in the precincts, and it is a reasonably good temple. It is a Shingon sect Omuro school temple, and the principal image is Senju Kanzeon Bodhisattva. This is a "seven gates" with five tile roofs with characteristic mountain gates. It was a historic pilgrimage temple with a shallow relationship with Emperor Sutoku.
