Elizabeth Farm

Visitors who are on holiday in Sydney and interested in early Australian history will find it advantageous to take a day boat to Parramatta. Local maps will be distributed upon arrival. Some historic buildings, including Elizabeth Farm, can be visited within a few hours on foot. The visit to Elizabeth Farm itself is worth it and it provides a fairly comprehensive amount of information. Also, to enter the mouth you have to go through a nice little tea house, one of the best Devon teas I have tasted in a long time. Not bad!

This place is really great for visiting Australia's oldest house and learning about the history of the area. Our lovely guide had a very large amount of information but unfortunately it was too hot that day so she was ill so we used IPAD to learn about the culture of the place and how it existed. The manor was originally rebuilt, But still retains many traditional elements in it. You can eat at the cafe there, where a limited menu has sandwiches and scones. We took the ferry from the ring pier Mauger pier (about 1.5 hour) and then about 15-20 minutes walk to Elizabeth's farm. It was a very nice day and when we got there they had arranged activities for the children.
