The Bell and Drum Tower is the joint name of the Bell and Drum Tower in ancient China. ＂ Shanhaiguan Bell and Drum Tower ＂ is a two-story building, the first floor is Fangtai, four holes through the heart, cross intersection, divided into four doors, self-formed four streets. The second floor is composed of the Bell Tower, Drum Tower and Wenchang Palace. This architectural form is very rare in China. Wenchang Palace is dedicated to Wenchang Emperor. ＂ Bell and Drum Tower ＂ East is engraved with ＂ Yingxuan ＂, and the meaning of welcoming the East is taken. The south is engraved with ＂ Tonghai ＂, and the meaning of direct access to Bohai Sea. The west is engraved with ＂ Chaojing ＂, and the meaning of the court is in mind. The north is engraved with ＂ Guanxuan ＂, and the meaning of overlooking Yanshan is inscribed.
