Qianwei Confucian Temple

Qianwei Confucian Temple is a national key cultural relic protection unit. It was first built in the Northern Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the fourth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty. It has a history of more than 600 years. After three relocations, three reconstructions, and twelve major repairs, the Confucian Temple ranks fourth in the country and first in Sichuan among the existing Confucian Temples in my country. The layout of the Confucian Temple is from north to south, forming a central axis of about 200 meters. Starting from the south end, the Wanren Palace Wall, Lingxing Gate, Panchi, Dacheng Gate, Liaotai, Dacheng Hall, and Qisheng Palace are arranged on the central axis in sequence, and Xianguan, Shengyu, Limen, Yilu, Dongwu, Xiwu and other layouts are symmetrical on the left and right. On the southeast side of the Confucian Temple, there are Jiexiaofang and Kuige built in the Qing Dynasty, like stars surrounding the moon, forming an ancient building complex with a temple, a square, and a pavilion full of traditional local cultural characteristics. Qianwei Confucian Temple has a complete structure and a grand scale. In particular, the stone carving and carving techniques are very exquisite. Its palace-style ancient buildings in the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties are unique. The Dacheng Gate in the Confucian Temple integrates three types of roofs: Xieshan, archway and hanging mountain. The three-layer eaves archway in the middle is inlaid with glazed characters "天开文运", making the entire roof gorgeous and elegant. It is extremely rare. The three-layer eaves archway building has become a unique wonder today. The Dacheng Hall, which was first built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, is majestic and grand in scale. It is a rare palace-style building in domestic Confucian temples. The hall enshrines the statue of Confucius, as well as the four companions: Yan Hui, Zisi, Zengzi, Mencius and the twelve philosophers. The statue group is as many as 94, ranking first in the country. The Confucian Temple has gone through more than 600 years, and each hall and stone tablet has its own unique story.
