Huangcun (Царское Село), the seat of the Yekaterina Palace (The Catherine Palace), is located about 25 kilometers south of St. Petersburg. To highlight the identity of the royal territory, the area where the Yekaterina Palace is located (including the Alexander Palace, the Alexander Garden and the White Tower Observation Deck) is known as the Tsar's Village or the Imperial Village after its completion. In 1937, in honor of Pushkin's childhood here, it was changed to the current name of Pushkin Village. For more than 200 years, it has been a summer place for the nobles.
