Top most thing to visit in pondicherry
One must visit the museum when in pondicherry not because of the architecture but the history behind the man himself. As vivekanand is for kanyakumari, Sri Aurobindo is for Pondicherry.

Very clean, and a bit serene (though you get a commercial vibe very quickly) the history of the place and its founders are really the draw. Big gift shop. Very nicely restored French colonial building...
