nice way to spend a bit of time
We were visiting the area, and just looking for a place to walk. This is a little island, just outside of the city area. We were there in January, warm day, but very few people. Lots of dog walkers...
Peirce Island is 27 acres of walking paths and has a saltwater pool, playground, tidal pools, and a boat launch as well as great views of the marshes, Memorial Bridge, Prescott Park, and the Piscatagu...
Nice place, but small. Hiking was level and easy and passed a pool and volleyball area. Plenty of free parking. Do not expect to be here long unless you intend to swim.
We walked across to Peirce Island where they have trails and sidewalks all around. It was peaceful to walk out to the Four Trees Island and enjoy the view of the port area. I may run there tomorrow ...
It's just a block or so from Prescott Park and like the park, a great getaway. The boat landing is a great place for pictures. And elsewhere there are great views.
