Located on Northern Ireland's scenic north coast, the Royal Portrush Golf Club occupies a historic dune geology. The course was built in 1888 and gradually migrated from the inland dunes to the coastal dunes. In 1929, the stadium was lame enough to build two 18-hole stadiums, and designer Harry Cotter took advantage of a higher and more undulating piece of land to build the famous Dunluce Lynx stadium. The club then owned two Lynx stadiums, the only club in Ireland to have ever played the Open.
