Washington Park

Portland Washington Park is a natural park built on hills in Washington Park, on the outskirts of Portland, and has been around for hundreds of years. The parks include the Portland Zoo, the World Forestry Center, the Portland Children's Museum (founded in 1946 and located at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), Hoyt Arboretum (with a coastal mahogany series of more than 150 feet tall, the first trees planted in the 1931 Tree Planting Park), The International Rose Testing Park (founded in 1917, the oldest public rose test park in the United States) and the Portland Japanese Garden (founded in 1962 on the site of the former Washington Park Zoo, after which the zoo moved to its current location). In the warm sun of early spring, the colors are beautiful, and it is really pleasant to visit here for a day.

The park is next to the Japanese Rose Garden and has only a few trails where people can stroll in the mountains and thick shade of trees to blend in with nature. I walked two or three kilometres on a well maintained trail and shared this wonderful day with joggers, dog walkers and walking couples. Parking is $2 per hour and I think it is reasonable for the time spent in nature. A great experience.

On the walkway three miles away, there is a lake for boat chartering and boat sightseeing. Thousands of flowers give the park a garden-like feel. Wildlife including squirrels, ducks and geese are free-range, so the grass may be a little messy, you should pay attention when walking. It's great to have an idyllic environment in the city. Just sitting in the chair, I feel relaxed.

I spent hours walking on the walkway in Washington Park. The assistant at the Visitor Center helped me plan my route and the scenery I wanted to see. I really enjoyed the tour, but I noticed that it was a little smaller than the park on the map. So I overestimated the time needed for this hike because I completed the longest route in shorter time without walking very fast. It's really a great place for people looking for places to walk.

A good place for citizens to relax and embrace nature. The trails on the hills can walk, run and walk dogs, and the houses around them are also beautiful.
