    Connecting rich and poor parts of town

    Built in the 1850s to link the center to the northern parts of town where many poor people were living. Keep in mind that the design of many Spanish colonial cities was based on apartheid principles. ...

    As bridges good this is an impressive one, if you're in Popayán do have a look, but don't make an extra special journey.

    Historical bridge in European-like setting

    More of a pedestrian area, the historical bridge on one side leads to the busy white city center. It hovers over an much older steeps bridge and a amphitheater-like park.
