Baiyu Cave

Baiyu Cave is located on the Dalianchengyi Mountain, 1.5 kilometers from Pingxiang City, Guangxi. Among the eight scenic spots in Pingxiang, Baiyu Cave ranks first. The stalactites in the cave are exquisite and white as jade, so it is named "Jade Cave". The cave is divided into three layers, also known as "Three Cave Heavens", namely "First Cave Heaven", "Second Cave Heaven" and "Third Cave Heaven". After the Sino-French War, Su Yuanchun, a famous general in the late Qing Dynasty, used Dalian as the command center for the entire border of Guangxi. Baiyu Cave was his office and summer rest place. There are a place for rest and reception, etc. His inscriptions are engraved everywhere in the cave, among which the more famous ones are "Another Penglai", "The bright moon and the sky share half", etc.

The bottom floor of Baiyu Cave is the conference hall, where Su Yuanchun held military meetings. There is a long wooden door on the left, with "Yinfen North Pole" engraved on it. When entering from the right door, a cool breeze hits you. There is a stone lion and a stone elephant in the door. The words "Love travels beyond things" and "A big fortress" are engraved above the cave. The top of the cave is flat, with several pits like elephant footprints. It is said that there was an immortal riding an elephant. Enter the secluded path from the left of the first cave, and go up to the second cave. The top of the curved hole is as high as 18 meters. The stalactites on the cave wall are like waterfalls and melons, and the upper end is like a attic corridor. A large square and smooth stone surface of about 12 square meters was chiseled out of the cliff on the south side. It was originally intended to be a monument to Su Yuanchun's achievements, but unfortunately no words were engraved, and it is still a monument without words. Facing the outer entrance of the second floor, the two words "Yudong" are engraved on the forehead, and the characters are more than two feet high. More than ten poems are engraved inside and outside the caves on the first and second floors, most of which praise the beautiful scenery of Baiyu Cave and Su Yuanchun's achievements, which cannot be recorded here.
