　Mt. Chokai, a representative peak of Tohoku. The Kotachi Observatory is at the highest point of the Chokai Blue Line, which runs through the mountains of Mt. Chokai at an altitude of 2236m. The observatory is 1150m above sea level. In the middle of October when we visited, the trees around here 々 were beginning to color. The area near the top of Mt. Chokai was covered with clouds, but the mountain surface where the autumn leaves began was beautiful. There is also a visitor center and several parking lots on the observatory with a superb view above １０００ m above sea level. ２０ A year ago, I came here by bus from Sakata and stayed at a hut on the top of Mt. Chokai. This time I only had lunch lunch while watching the sea of clouds.

If you walk about 15 minutes from the Tochidachi trailhead, you will reach the observatory. You can see magnificent scenes such as the Sea of Japan and the Shonai Plain. I think it's okay to guide people in the distance.

It was cloudy during the rainy season, so I didn't expect it, but the rural scenery between the clouds and the Sea of Japan is superb. The parking lot is also large and the exhilaration is not perfect. Please use the Torikai Blue Line. it's a long drive, so i'm going to plan a drive that's not impossible.
