From Niigata Station, you can cross the Shinano River and arrive in about 30 minutes on foot. The exterior is Japanese architecture and has been renovated from an old folk house from the Taisho era. And the inside of the building is a gallery. When I visited, it was an exhibition of "Hanayuki Book Exhibition".
It was a very calm gallery with a Japanese feel. The building itself is like a private house with Japanese style architecture or a merchant house, so if you are not careful, you will likely pass by. I think the marker is Circle K Niigata Jubancho store.
