Cliff of Thousand Buddhas

Qianfoyan is located at the back of Qixia Temple at the foot of Qixia Mountain, Qixia Road, Qixia District, Nanjing City. It is a landscape that has a long history when natural rocks have carved many Buddha statues, but there are not many Buddha statues preserved.

Qianfo Rock is located on the rock wall of Qixia Mountain, which was gradually opened from the southern dynasty. The Tang, Song and Yuanming generations have been opened. It is said that there are about 700 Buddha statues, all sizes are there, so it is known as Qianfo Rock.

Although it is not as good as the big mountain Buddhas such as Yungang Grottoes Longmen Grottoes, the scene is still very shocking. The small stone mountains are densely packed with Buddhas. A stone cave can be opened in a larger place. The small place is a stone.

Qianfo Rock is located on the rock wall of Qixia Mountain Shamao Peak to Zipen Peak West. Qianfo Rock was repaired and engraved in the Song and Ming generations. The famous "Dongfeitian is in the Buddha No. 102. This cave is very small. There are 5 Buddha statues. The two groups of flying sky on the top of the cave are orange and the lines are clear and discernable. The flames on top of the Buddha's head are faintly visible.

Nanjing people have always liked Qixia Mountain, which is the first Mingxiu Mountain in Jinling, and the most famous cultural relics are "Yanta, Tangbei, and Qianfoyan". People come to Qixia Mountain to enjoy maple leaves, but also to view various cultural relics, in the Qixia Temple next to the Shamao Peak area of the rock wall there is "thousand Buddha rock", here is the southern Qiliang two Buddha statues built, the existing 515, known as the thousand Buddha rock. The history of Datong Yungang Grottoes here is still earlier. But many Buddha statues have been damaged more severely over the years.

Qixia Mountain, this "Jinling First Mingxiu Mountain", has an important position in the Buddha Temple in the south of the Yangtze River. It has always been named "Yanta, Tangbei, Qianfoyan". Among them, Tangbei refers to the Mingzhengjunbei, and the "Yanta" refers to the Sheli Tower built in the first year of Renshou (601) in the Sui Dynasty. The Buddha Rock is located on the rock wall in the Shamao Peak area of Qixia Mountain. It is mostly the Buddha statues built in the Qiliang Dynasty. There are 515 Buddhas and 294 Buddhas, known as the Buddha Rock. The cave Buddha statues here are 31 years later than the Yungang Grottoes, but 17 years earlier than the Longmen Grottoes.
