Matiu / Somes Island

Very quiet undisturbed island. New Zealand's long coastline offers such a perfect ocean view. Although coastal reefs replace sand, this does not prevent a relaxing visit!

Sams Island is an outlying island in Wellington. The scenery on the island is very beautiful, the surrounding sea is clear, the reefs are winding, and the scenery is very unique. It is very fun to explore on foot on the island and it is definitely worth visiting.

Martiusams is a very beautiful peninsula on the outskirts of Wellington. The coast here is undeveloped and quite pristine. The waves beat the reefs that highlight the sea, and the white waves are very spectacular and beautiful. The sea is clear and sometimes dolphins are infested, attracting many tourists to visit.

Sams Island is a very quiet and beautiful island off Wellington, and there are daily liners to go here. The island is quiet and primitive, with birds and flowers looking across the sea to Wellington. The coast of the island is very magnificent, and the game between the reef and the waves provokes waves, which is very beautiful. Snorkeling is also possible here, with a dedicated snorkeling base.

Matthio Island is commonly known as the Skull Island and is also the place where blue penguins return. The last flight back to Skullington every day is 4:25 pm, so you can't see blue penguins returning, unless you have a yacht or yacht yourself. Yesterday I didn't see the cockroach, I don't know where to hide, but I would rather hide it, I must be afraid of cold sweating first if I saw it! The island is not big, and it takes about two hours to walk down the whole journey. But the sunny weather to the island is still very beautiful, the various roads on the island are very beautiful, the island's plants are very diverse, from the island you can enjoy the fjord scenery on all sides, if you like photography, stay for a day, there will be a blockbuster.

I love this place because going there reminds me of my trip to Alcatel. There is a fascinating history of isolation and incarceration that not everyone knows. I especially enjoyed seeing Wellington and Hutt Valley from a new perspective...it was cool to stand at the highest point of the island and turn around to see all parts of the harbour. I would recommend bringing a picnic lunch. The ferry timetable can be a bit confusing but you can take a class in the morning and come back in the afternoon. Enough time to stroll around the island and enjoy some of the tracks and beautiful views around. If you really like it, you can even book one of the two houses on the island and spend the night. Check the Department of Conservation website to see how it works. Overnight is definitely something I want to do

Mattyusams is a beautiful island off Wellington, the small island is not very large, but it is a paradise away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The sea is very clear, the beach is relatively primitive, no development, but there are sporadic small hotels on the island, very warm and comfortable, very suitable for vacation and leisure.
