Really cool to follow Roman road
We stumbled upon this and the Roman road during a drive along the Moselle. Would have loved to do the entire trip but we found it too late in our stay.
This Roman villa was built in the late 2nd century; rediscovered in 1984, preserved and restored and opened to the public in 2000. It is part of the Roman Wine Road project in the Mosel and Saar valle...
This small Roman ruin is a quick visit in the area of Trier. There is a short walking path to tour the area, and the ruins are in good shape. There are many good hiking trails in the area, also.

This was a nice surprise on our way from Trier to Cochem
We took a short detour while biking along the Mosel and passed the remains of a Roman villa. Entrance is free.

Heavily restored villa among vineyards
Gives you a feeling of the life of landed gentry in Roman times. Beautiful area and stroll among the vines.
