It is famous for its towering Danxia Mountain that looks like a giant elephant and the Guoli River that flows around the mountain like a jade belt. It is also famous for the Puzhao Temple on the cliff that has been worshipped for more than 1,600 years and was conferred the title of "Zen Caodong Authentic Sect" by Emperor Guangxu. In the 1920s, Zhang Taiyan, a great scholar in the Republic of China, read the "Longzang" here and was reluctant to leave, leaving behind the reputation of "Wuxi is the most dangerous in the world, and the immortal Taiping Mountain". In 1997, Mr. Zhao Puchu, the leader of the Buddhist Association of China, personally wrote the name "Taiping Mountain", and the calligraphy is brilliant and the Buddha's light is here. In 2020, after ten years of polishing, the brand-new Taipingshan Scenic Area was officially opened, which includes three major tourist contents: sightseeing and meditation, sports and leisure, and the Red Trail. There is the Guanyin Pavilion with a view of two counties from the first floor, the imperial witness Songyue Tower, the Cloud Ladder, the Sky Plank Road, the first outdoor oblique viewing ladder in China, the only sky canyon glass slide in Xiangxi, the Danxia cliff via ferrata, the red revolutionary relic Xinglong Bridge (Red Army Bridge), the Three Artillery Forts and a series of other highlights and experience projects. It is a must-see for Longshan tourism and a leading scenic Attraction for regional tourism.
