Tanghe Reservoir

Tanghe Reservoir is a water storage building and tourist attraction in the southeast mountainous area of more than 30 kilometers southeast of Liaoyang. It is also the main water supply for residents of Liaoyang City and Anshan City in Liaoning Province. The dam is located in Tanghe Town, Liaoning City, 39 kilometers away from Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province. The reservoir is on the west slope of Qianshan Mountains, a transitional zone between the low hills and Liaohe Plain in the east of Liaoning. The basin is in the temperate continental monsoon climate area. The summer is hot and rainy. The rainfall in August accounts for46.6% of the annual precipitation. Tanghe Reservoir is designed according to the 100-year flood design, and the largest flood may be checked; The total reservoir capacity is7.23 billion cubic meters, of which the flood control reservoir capacity is3.58 billion cubic meters, and the Xingli reservoir capacity is3.7 billion cubic meters. The reservoir has adjusted the water volume for many years 2.46 billion cubic meters, and the water catchment area above the dam site is 1,228 square kilometers. The project consists of five parts: dam, spillway, water transmission tunnel, hydropower station, and water diversion building. The dam is a clay slanted sand shell dam, the highest dam height is48.5 meters, the dam length is 455 meters, and the dam roof is 6 meters wide. The spillway is open, the dome is 22 meters wide, and the maximum flood discharge flow is 2713 cubic meters per second. The water transmission hole is a round pressure tunnel, the hole diameter, 4.5 meters, 211.1 meters long, the maximum overflow 282 cubic meters per second. The hydropower station is equipped with two generator sets, one with a capacity of 3,200 kW and one with a capacity of 250 kW. Water diversion buildings include the water diversion mouth of Liaoyang, Anshan City, Liaoyang Petrochemical Fiber Corporation and Gongchangling Mine Company
