Daihai Sea

Liangcheng Daihai Tourist Area is located in the southern part of Ulanqab League, with beautiful mountains and clear waters and pleasant scenery. Daihai is 10 kilometers long from north to south and 35 kilometers wide from east to west. In midsummer, the slightly oval-shaped Daihai looks like a lotus leaf just emerging.

During the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi visited Daihai many times during his border inspections and built a temporary palace here, named "Liangcheng" and named Daihai "Tianchi". The temporary palace was later renamed Huixiang Temple, which was once one of the largest temples in Inner Mongolia and was destroyed by war in 1939. There are dozens of wild animals in the 38,000 mu of primitive secondary forests in Manhan Mountain. There are unique landscapes such as Foye Cave, Jinshuiling, and Wannian Ice House under the northern peak, making it a good place for sightseeing.

There are many scenic spots in Daihai Tourist Area. Standing at the ruins of Huixiang Temple and looking west, the sleeping Buddha of Dongjin Mountain looks peaceful and lifelike. The tourist area has the 5,000-year-old Longshan Early Culture of the Northern Kingdom, the Tiger Mountain Stone City Ruins and the Yuanzigou Cave Ruins, as well as two 100-kilometer Great Walls - the Qin and Han Great Wall and the Ming and Qing Great Wall.

Daihai Hot Spring, also known as Mapao Spring, is located in Zhongshuitang Village, Sansumu Township, near Daihai. It is famous because of the legend that Emperor Kangxi rode his horse to dig for water here to quench his thirst during his border patrol. In the past, it has always been a place for lamas and dignitaries to bathe and recuperate. The daily water flow is 2,732 tons and the water temperature is 38 degrees.
