Traditional home on steroids
This is amazing - not just the scale but natural beauty of buildings / gardens. The owner had a vision and created an ancestral home- Downton Abbey Japan - style; even can see how the servants worked ...
This is an amazing house and beautifully maintained. Its very large and gives you a great idea how the top samurai used to live 200 years ago. Pity the rooms are not open to enter, only look from outs...
I was surprised that there was such a magnificent building away from the city of Okayama and Kurashiki. The connections of many rooms, which are partitioned by 42m, made me feel like I was in a mirror space. In the hall, there was an exhibition about salt making, and there was an exhibition about salt making, which was interesting. The signboard of the parking lot was large vertically, so I didn't notice it and wandered around.
It is the house of the old Shiota King on Jeans Street in Kurashiki City. This is the residence of No 﨑 Buzaemon, which was a great success in salt, and is a nationally designated important cultural property. Adults 500 yen, elementary and junior high school students 300 yen, and children are free on Saturdays and Sundays. The mansion here is very large and it's fun to see the mansion and garden, but it was much better than I expected because of old daily necessities, warehouses, toilets, and air shelters. There is also an exhibition hall using the warehouse, and honestly, it was much better than Jeans Street.

Fascinating!
There's quite a lot to see on this property; it belonged to rich people, and you can see and learn so much about daily life in those times. :-)
It was a surprising mansion.
