Baofeng Temple is located at the foot of Baozhu Peak in Baofeng Town, Jing'an County, Jiangxi Province. The temple was originally named "Letan Temple", also known as "Falin Temple". Because it is located in Shimen Mountain, it is called "Shimen Ancient Temple". During the Tang Dynasty, it was renamed "Baofeng Temple", which is still in use today. Since its establishment more than 1,200 years ago, Baofeng Temple has been revived and collapsed several times. During the "Cultural Revolution", the incense was interrupted. Reconstruction started in 1993. Each hall was designed by Master Yicheng, the then president of the Buddhist Association of Jiangxi Province. He also raised all the funds from home and abroad. Baofeng Temple is an important dojo of Mazu Daoyi. Since the first year of Zhenyuan in Tang Dynasty (785), Mazu led his disciples to preach here many times. With the establishment of Mazu's "Hongzhou Zen", the Taoist culture of Baofeng Temple had a profound impact on Chinese philosophy, national culture, and moral concepts. The entire architectural pattern of Baofeng Temple is strictly in accordance with the fixed style of a Buddhist temple. The temple gate faces south, and there is an antique archway with a height of 13 meters. In the middle of the forehead, there are four big characters "Mazu Dojo" written by Zhao Puchu, the chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Association. There is a half-moon-shaped release pool in front of the archway, and a nine-dragon wall is built in the south of the archway. After entering the archway, go west for dozens of steps, and there are four main halls on a central axis in the north-south longitudinal direction: the first entrance is the mountain gate hall, with a single-storey corner, and the four characters "Baofeng Zen Temple" are engraved on the door lintel, which was designed by Mr. Zhao Puchu. Books; the second entrance is the Hall of Heavenly Kings, with Xuhuai Building and Yunhai Building on both sides; the third entrance is the Daxiong Palace, which is a brick and wood structure with an area of 1,100 square meters. The Xieshan-style roof is covered with yellow glazed tiles, and the bells at the corners of the wings make noises in the wind. In the center of the hall are three large Buddha statues, namely Sakyamuni, Amitabha and Medicine Buddha. They are 13 meters high, and the whole body is gilded. There is a Guanyin Island in the back of the niche, and there are five hundred Arhats on the four walls of the main hall. They sit and lie down, with joy, anger and sadness. , Built on a high place, the whole temple hall is vividly remembered. There are wing rooms and side halls on both sides of the main hall, both of which are two-story, brick and wood structures. From north to south on the east side, there are Bell Tower, Guest Room, Gongde Hall, Jialan Hall, Zhai Hall, Shangke Hall, and Shadow Hall. On the outer side are the Inner Guest Hall, the Ancestral Hall, the Wei Tuo Hall, the Xuejie Building, and the Abbot's Room. There is a meditation hall outside. The total construction area is more than 10,000 square meters. The entire hall is rectangular in layout. All halls and wing rooms are built with verandas, so that the shoes will not get wet in a rainy day.
