Hongji Temple is located in Yitang Town, 20 li southwest of Jiexiu City, Shanxi Province. It faces Fen River to the east and Yinding Mountain to the back. The Fen River flows back and forth, and there are green pines and cypresses in the mountains. It is an octagonal nine-story pavilion-style brick tower. According to historical records, it was built in the third year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty, and has a history of more than 1,300 years. Emperor Taizong defeated Liu Wuzhou in Fenzhou and established this temple. After years of vicissitudes, the temple was destroyed and the building collapsed.
