Quiet Shrine near to the Train Station
This Shrine is a 10 minute walk from Uenoshi Station. We saw it on the map at the station and decided to visit before heading onto Ueno Park. After leaving the station via the car park, go across the ...
Sugawara Shrine has a bell at a magnificent torii gate. It is a historic shrine related to the Sugawara family. Next to the torii gate is a magnificent stone monument that says that the Ueno Tenjin Festival Danjiri event is registered by UNESCO. It is officially Sugawara Shrine, but it seems to be known for its name "Ueno Shrine". The stone monument also says "Ueno Shrine". There is Tenjin Yokocho on the premises, where ramen shops and restaurants are lined up. What kind of relationship is that? It's interesting.
It's a good shrine, but it's a pity that the manners of worshipers are not good. Plum is crying

I've seen a shrine for the first time in a while with worshipers who tie fortunes to plum branches and worshipers who have such bad manners recently. I feel like plums are crying. Or is it a normal custom in Iga? It is also called Sugawara Shrine or Ueno Tenjingu, and the tower gate looks very old and I would like to evaluate it as a beautiful shrine overall, but ... I'm sorry.
It is a shrine that enshrines Sugawara no Michizane, just off Ueno Station. If you proceed from the shopping street, you will see a magnificent tower gate. The hall of worship is very new because it has been rebuilt by fire. Although it is a shrine, there is also a magnificent bell tower. It is a shrine related to Basho Matsuo. Many people visited the Japanese sweets shop behind the shrine.
It is a magnificent and powerful shrine along the highway near Ueno Station, which makes you feel like you have slipped back in time. Nearby, there is a cafe at Kihei Shiina's parents' house, Chitta published in the Michelin Guide, and Kanaya, a long-established store, so you can enjoy taking a stroll.
