Hengshan Reservoir

Hengshan Reservoir, located 5,000 meters south of Hunyuan County, Shanxi Province. At the foot of Beiyue Hengshan Mountain, the Tangyu River, the tributary of the Hun River in the upper reaches of the Sanggan River in the Haihe River Basin. It is a medium-sized water conservancy hub reservoir that mainly prevents floods and takes into account irrigation and other comprehensive utilization.

Although Hengshanshuidu is an artificial landscape, the natural ecological environment in the reservoir has developed into a rare scenery in the long-term evolution, and the beauty of everyone caring for the natural scenery is in sight.

The Jinlong Gorge at the foot of Hengshan Mountain, overlooking from a high altitude, the Tanggu River in Jinlong Gorge, such as a giant dragon, emerged from the hinterland of Hengshan Mountain, and twisted and circled at the gate after being blocked by the dam of more than 70 meters of Hengshan Reservoir to form a treasure gourd-like artificial lake with a water catchment area of 164 square kilometers. In the half wall of Cuiping Peak on the west side of the dam, a daisy pavilion is the legendary hanging temple.

Hunyuan Hengshan Reservoir has a long history and has good water quality. There are many fish varieties.
