Gate Tower

The original ancient city wall of Pinghai Ancient City is more than 1,700 meters high and 6 meters high. Most of them have been demolished, leaving only 4 gates. There are four city gates in the ancient city: the east gate is the city gate that is more vulnerable to attack, so it is also the city gate with the "urn city", which is beneficial to defend against the enemy. Ximen is a tall and majestic building in the ancient city, with a thickness of 1.4 meters, a height of 2.4 meters, and a width of 2.5 meters. The tower is 16.8 meters long and 10.6 meters wide. Looking up, the west gate tower has a clean shape, carved beams and painted buildings, full of national architectural features. The south gate is called the "Tianzi Gate". In the main gate lies a slightly raised stone, called the "foundation stone". There is a small gate on each side. People in the city are not allowed to pass through the south gate when they are going to funerals. On both sides of the north gate are engraved the couplet of "North Pole Royal Star, Constant Sun and Moon, Xuantian Long Emperor with Qianqiu". There are towers on the four gates, but with the fading of the war value, the towers are now used as temples. The gods currently enshrined are as follows: "Master Yan" in the east tower, "Emperor Xietian" in the south tower, and the gods in the west tower. The building is "Huaguang Emperor", and the north building is "Xuantian Emperor".
