Daxingshan Fort

The Daxingshan Fort is located in the southwest of Daxing Mountain at the southern end of the port town. It is a well-preserved fort among the Pinghai forts. The east, west and south face the sea, and the terrain is dangerous and difficult to defend and difficult to attack. In the fifty-sixth year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1718), Guangdong and Guangxi local military affairs and food and pay and military department's right servant and the right deputy capital of the capital court donated silver to build a fort and built a military fortress here. The fort is built with granite, with a circumference of 295 meters, an average height of 3.5 meters and a width of 2.55 meters. There is a stone gate in the northeast, the gate is 1.96 meters high and 1.63 meters wide. According to the inscription, the fort was guarded by 600 soldiers and 1 general. The fort is rectangular from east to west, the trenches are vertical and horizontal, and the city wall is like a coiled dragon standing up and down, majestic. Daxingshan Fort is now a cultural relics protection unit in Huidong County.
