Qin Straightway

Qin Zhidao, commonly known as "Huangshang Road" and "Saint's Road" in northern Shaanxi, was an important military route that Qin Shihuang ordered Meng Tian to supervise from 212 BC to 210 BC. Qinzhi Road starts from Yunyang Linkuang Palace (now Liangwudi Village, Chunhua County) in the south, a military important place in Xianyang, Kyoto, and ends at Jiuyuan County (now Mengjiawan Village, southwest of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia) in the north, crossing 14 counties and more than 700 kilometers. The pavement is generally 20 meters wide. After Qin Shihuang annexed the six kingdoms and unified China, in addition to other political achievements, he also accomplished two major events that attracted worldwide attention: one was the construction of the Great Wall; the other was the construction of an ancient "highway" - Qin Zhidao. Historical records such as "Historical Records" and "Han Books" have recorded Qin Zhidao, whose project is arduous and magnificent, and can be called a miracle of world highway engineering. This straight runs through the entire Ordos region, thus connecting Jingwei and border defense. In the event of an emergency at the border, the army could go directly from Xianyang, the capital, to the border of Saiwai. This was a major transportation line connecting the Central Plains and the North at that time, and it played a very important role in promoting economic and cultural ties between the frontier defense and the interior. Today's Qinzhi Road has experienced 2000 years of wind and rain, and most of the roads are still basically preserved, and some of the complete Qinzhi Road has been listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Shaanxi Province. The Qinzhi Road runs through the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi, goes northward along the east side of Ziwuling, crosses four counties in Yan'an, and then extends northeast to Baotou City, Inner Mongolia.
