Hongze Lake Embankment

Hongze Lake Ancient Village is located on the shore of Hongze Lake, the fourth largest freshwater lake in China. The scenic area mainly includes the Hongze Lake embankment, Shuizhu City, Fisherman's Bay and Happy Garden. Hongze Lake embankment has a history of more than 1800 years. It is a world cultural heritage and key cultural relics protection unit in the country. There are many historical relics such as Qianlong Yubei, Zhouqiao Datang, Xinba Site along the way, highlighting the magical charm of the millennium ancient scorpion.

Hongze Lake embankment from Huaiyin District Pier Town to the north, to the south to Jiangba Town, Hongze District, the whole length is 70.4 kilometers. The scale of the Hongze Lake embankment project is huge and is known as the "Great Wall on Water". Its dam construction plan and upright strip wall project technology represent the highest level of the world at that time, with profound cultural and historical significance. The Hongze Lake embankment is one of the important heritage points of the World Heritage Site, the Grand Canal of China, and one of the core heritage points of the Qingkou Hub Heritage Area.

The Hongze Lake embankment is quite long, sixty or seventy kilometers long, walking on the embankment, it feels very good, and it feels open. This is a good place to eat fish. Many small restaurants along the way can eat lake fish. When the lotus is in full bloom, the lotus picking is quite wonderful. The water is not very clean and the lake is turbid, but walking by the lake, the wind is very comfortable.

After 1128, the Yellow River south migrated through Surabaya to capture the lower reaches of the Huaiyin River into the sea, and the Huai River lost the seawater channel. In the east of the Weishui River, the original small lake was expanded to Hongze Lake.
